Behind jungepflanzen.de there is no corporation – just a plant nursery. It all began in 2010, with a sense of dissatisfaction. Our founder is an industrial engineer who worked in software development for the automotive industry. A good job, but not a fulfilling one. Something was missing: something alive, something that grows, that you can touch and pass on.
So we started raising plants. At first on the side, purely for the joy of it. Today it has become our main occupation – and our calling.
We live where we work
Our nursery sits on a large property where we also live. Living and working in one place – that was the idea from the very beginning. Next to the greenhouses lies our own garden, planted with our own plants. Much of what ends up on our table grows right here. And there are sheep and chickens, too.
This is not marketing. It is how we live – and it shapes how we work.
What we grow
We focus on what we do best: young plants and seeds.
Our emphasis is on edible crops for everyone who wants to harvest their own – vegetables, fruit and herbs. For the greenhouse we raise the heat lovers: tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and chillies. For the open ground there are lettuce, cabbage, vegetable plants and herbs.
Alongside these we offer ornamental plants and a broad seed range: vegetable, fruit and herb seeds as well as flower and ornamental seeds.
And we stay curious: next we will be adding carnivorous plants to our range – Nepenthes, Drosera, Dionaea. They are not here yet, but they are coming.
For bulk buyers
We also supply larger quantities – to other nurseries, to self-sufficient growers and to anyone planting on a larger scale. New: our seeds are now available in larger units, not just in small packets. We are continuing to expand this area.
