Variety from seed
Capsicum annuum is the most common pepper and chilli species and includes bell peppers, pointed peppers, peperoni, jalapeño and cayenne. Grown from your own seed, you have the choice of a variety that no supermarket offers.
Start early
The seeds germinate warm from February to March on the windowsill. With a bright spot and a little patience, vigorous plants develop that bear fruit into autumn.
