Home: Brussels
Brussels sprouts probably originated around Brussels – in English they are still called “Brussels sprouts” to this day. On a tall stem the small, firm sprouts sit closely packed in rows, making it one of the most unusual sights in the vegetable bed.
Frost makes it mild
Like many cabbage types, Brussels sprouts also become sweeter and more digestible after frost. They are harvested from the bottom upwards throughout the winter – a rewarding vegetable for the cold season.
