From the Orient to us
Cauliflower came to Central Europe via the Orient and Italy. The dense, white flower head is harvested before it opens. To keep it nicely pale, a few leaves are traditionally folded over it to protect it from the sun.
More than just white
Besides the classic white, cauliflower also comes in green, yellow and purple. Whether steamed, baked au gratin or raw – its delicate flavour goes with countless dishes.
