Black cabbage from Italy
Palm cabbage, called Cavolo Nero – black cabbage – in Italy, originates from Tuscany. Its long, dark green-blue, blistered leaves grow upwards like a palm and make it an eye-catcher in the bed too.
Hearty in the kitchen
Palm cabbage is the soul of the Tuscan ribollita, that hearty vegetable soup. Like kale, it too becomes milder after frost and is a robust winter vegetable with a strong aroma.
