One of the “three sisters”
The indigenous peoples of America already grew beans together with maize and squash – the famous “three sisters”: the maize gave the beans support, the beans fertilised the soil, the squash shaded it. The pole bean climbs several metres up poles.
A rich harvest in a small space
Because it grows upwards, the pole bean yields especially much in little space. Regular picking encourages ever new pods – always cook thoroughly.
