White peat for high nutrient content of the soil
Different plants also make different demands on the soil. Here, not only the required nutrients play a major role, but also the nature of the soil and not least the pH value. At the beginning, the gardener should therefore know exactly which plants have which requirements and what the soil is like. Then it is a matter of choosing the appropriate substrate. We at jungepflanzen.de offer a range of substrates that significantly improve the garden soil and stimulate plant growth. One of the commonly used substrates is white peat. The advantage of it is that you can not only add it directly to the soil, but also use it to mix your very own substrate. It is therefore also considered a basic material for growing media and high-quality garden soil. White peat can absorb water and also air particularly well and offers the advantage that it loosens soils. The pH value is between 2.5 and 3, far below that of garden soil, which is between 5 and 6.5.
White peat - when plants prefer acidic soil
If white peat is to be used, then you should limit yourself to plants that prefer acidic soil with a pH between 4 and 5. These include, for example, blueberries, cranberries, potatoes, chocorée, arnica, bearwort, rhododendron, azaleas, peonies, sorrel, heather and sundew. In addition to white peat we also offer black peat in our store. The difference lies in the decomposition. White peat is virtually the first stage, black peat, however, the last. This is also reflected in the pH value. With white peat it is, as mentioned, between 2.5 and 3, with black peat between 4 and 5. Especially well suited is white peat incidentally, also for carnivorous plants.
