Ster van de Noord-Duitse winterkeuken

Nauwelijks een groente is zo nauw verbonden met Noord-Duitsland als boerenkool. Traditioneel wordt hij pas na de eerste vorst geoogst, want de kou zet zetmeel om in suiker en maakt hem mild en zoet. Hele “kooltochten” vieren hem tot vandaag.

Gezond en robuust

Boerenkool zit boordevol vitamine C en doorstaat zelfs strenge winters in het bed. Hartig gestoofd als klassieker of modern als knapperige “kale chip” – hij beleefde een verbazingwekkende comeback.
