Environmental Protection and Disposal

The environment is increasingly coming to the fore, and rightly so! We must protect our world. This is especially true with regard to our awareness of exotic plants, as many of these species are threatened with extinction.

We do not take any plants or seeds from nature; instead, we cultivate our own and only bring such plants and seeds into circulation.

Through all of our actions, waste products are inevitably produced. What matters here is that we recognise resources and return them to the value chain, rather than disposing of them as rubbish.

Disposing of plants, seeds and green waste

You can dispose of old plants and seeds quite simply, just like green waste. Please bear in mind, however, that the seeds are in principle to be classified as toxic. Therefore, keep them away from children and animals!

Disposing of old substrate

There are two options for disposing of your old substrate in an environmentally responsible manner: 1. dispose of the substrate in the organic waste, 2. spread the substrate in the garden.

Disposing of packaging material

Our packaging is made of recycled cardboard and can be disposed of via the paper recycling bin. In this way, it is returned to the cycle.

Through our activity, we bring packaging material into circulation. In accordance with the German Packaging Act, we are obliged to participate in a recovery system in proportion to the quantity. We fulfil this obligation.

Disposing of old plant pots and the like

All of our plant pots are manufactured from recycled polypropylene and can be recycled after use. Old plant pots are best disposed of via the Grüner Punkt (Green Dot) system.

Environmental protection

As we live for the exotic rarities in our shop, the responsible use of resources is close to our hearts. We raise all plants ourselves and take neither plants nor seeds from nature.

To save plastic, we generally ship our plants unpotted and thus avoid unnecessary plastic pots. The root balls are securely fixed in shipping packaging made of recycled PET; as filling material for the cavities in the box, we use cardboard and grass instead of plastic. Our shipping boxes are made of recycled cardboard, and our plant pots – where necessary – of recycled polypropylene. In this way, almost the entire packaging material can be recycled.
